Get to Know VerClare: Susan Carrion

What do you do at VerClare?

I package orders to send out to customers, keep track and document inventory that comes in, I input new items into the website, and prepare tags for the items of clothing. I also order supplies for the office, track inventory and sales, create certain end-of-month reports, communicate with customers that email VerClare and any other business tasks.

How long have you been working at VerClare?

Pretty much from the beginning! I helped with the initial packaging of orders when VerClare was run out of Cristina's home. So probably around 3-4 years now. And I gave moral support when needed, of course:)

What is your typical day like at VerClare?

Well, no day is really typical! But "typical" might include collecting items for orders, packaging them and taking them to the post office. I may also open new boxes of inventory that have come in and document them on the invoice, including naming them, and then hanging the clothing up to be sold. I sometimes steam clothing when other staff is unavailable to, tagging items with price tags, organizing the office etc. I am also in charge of ordering supplies for the office so I often check if anything needs to be ordered, as well as preparing the space for in-house shopping hours.

What is your favorite part about working for VerClare and with Cristina?

I enjoy seeing the new clothing that comes in, and seeing how Cristina assembles and outfit with it. It also gives me, as her mom, a wonderful picture of her as a business woman and her expertise in what she does. I also enjoy the camaraderie of the staff.

What did you do before working for VerClare?

I was a music and elementary teacher, a principal, a secretary and a stay-at-home mom in the past.

What are some of your hobbies that you do in your free time?

What free time!? Ha! I enjoy playing the piano, cooking reading and having deep conversations with friends. :)

What is your favorite vacation spot and if you could travel anywhere on vacation, where would it be and why?

I don't know that I have a favorite vacation spot. I do love to travel and see new places. I particularly like water and the seashore. I've always thought it would be nice to visit Tuscany, Italy!

Tell us about your family: Kids, pets etc.

My husband and I have three children - our oldest son and his wife live in Gainesville, Florida, our second son, his wife, and three sons live in Chenoa, IL, and Cristina and her husband and two sons (and daughter on-the-way) live in Chenoa as well.

What is a fun fact about you? (Or Cristina or VerClare)

Hmm...fun fact. I think a fun fact about VerClare is that we all have a good time together, and often when something gets humorous we all are laughing together. :)
