Get to Know VerClare: Cristina Vercler
After all the photos on social media and our website, and the many live videos etc., it may seem like you have gotten to know the people who help make VerClare, VerClare. We just wanted to tell you more about each member of the VerClare team by interviewing each person and giving you a better glimpse into who they are, in regards to VerClare, as well as just some fun facts!

First up, the lady who started it all: Cristina Vercler

What did you do for work before starting VerClare?

Originally I worked for a company that managed and developed private student housing across the U.S., and after having kids I transitioned to a stay-at-home mom.

What lead you to starting your own boutique, and why online versus brick and mortar?

I always had a passion for fashion and clothing, but I was looking to bring some new styles to the women of the Midwest that were a little more out of the box than what they were used to. Living in Austin, TX, for a few years gave me a new perspective on style.  I also wanted to help empower moms because, as a mom myself, I know how hard it can be to get dressed and ready each day, especially if you don't love the way your clothes look; or even find the time to go shopping. I chose online for my boutique because I wanted to be home with my kids, which to this day is still my main goal, but also to make it easy for women outside of Chenoa and the surrounding towns to find great clothes.

What is your favorite part about your job?

The customers! I love getting to know people and getting to interact with them. I love the community I have been able to build with all the women who have helped support me and my business. Also, I get fulfillment out of helping dress women and moms like myself and help make them feel confident. And...I love to buy clothes, of course!

What is your typical day like at VerClare?

That really depends on the day, the week, and the time of year. Every day is different! I typically dedicate two days each week to be in the shop running the business all day. I do as much in the office as I can because I don't want to have to bring work home with me when I want to focus on being present with my family. On days that I am in the office, I do anything from financial things, buying inventory, doing photos for the website or social media, product descriptions and all kinds of other things! Occasionally we have shopping hours as well, and on those days I help ladies that come shop!

How do you manage kids/family/marriage, as well as run your own business?

*She laughed* I don't know really, its definitely a lot to balance. I think I am pretty organized, and very type A, so I try to think ahead and plan out when I will do things or prioritize as best as possible. I kind of have to keep it together, so I just do somehow—or at least try to!

What is your favorite part about being a mom?

Probably the love that you get from your kids and getting to watch them grow and learn.

What are some things you like to do, whether with your family, or if you actually get time alone?

I like camping, drinking wine (lol we all can relate), reading books. I like to decorate, like interior decorating, as well as cooking from scratch with my husband.

What is your favorite vacation spot? Or if you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

My husband's family has a cabin in Michigan that we love to go to. It is relaxing, and pretty low maintenance for a vacation since its on the lake and in a quiet wooded area. And if I could travel anywhere I would probably go to Hawaii or Europe, because I feel like people talk about how great vacations there are.

What is one beauty product you can't live without?

Loreal lash volume paradise mascara. Good stuff.

What is your guilty pleasure snack?

I like buffalo wings, or anything spicy, but my favorite is Hint of Lime Tostitos. I have eaten whole bags in one sitting because I just can't stop.

What is your guilty pleasure show or movie?

Real Housewives of Orange County

Tell me about any pets you have:

We have a dog named Addie, and we have had her since my husband and I were dating, so almost 10 years. She's a great dog, but that's it other than the occasional farm cat that shows up!

We hope you enjoy getting to learn a bit more about the ladies
behind the scenes of VerClare!
Check back in next time for another VerClare interview!

I’m so thankful for Christina and her fashion advice I really don’t get that at any other store or boutique. The pieces are so me and everything I’ve always wanted from a clothing store. I feel so pretty in every piece I wear and confident.
